FAQ
Questions families ask
Here are answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn’t here, please call or send us a message. We’re glad to help.
Living together
Can couples live together at Grace-Lift?
Yes. Grace-Lift is an intimate, private home where couples and siblings can stay together. Couples can live together when it’s clinically, operationally and safely appropriate. In plain terms, that means we can meet each person’s care needs here, we have the space and staffing to support both people, and living together is safe for both of them.
Couples share a private suite furnished their way. Every resident has their own private bathroom — bathrooms are never shared — and privacy is respected throughout the home.
Can siblings or other loved ones live together?
Yes, under the same conditions. Siblings and other loved ones who want to share a home are welcome to talk with us about their situation.
What if one person needs more care than the other?
Couples can live together even when one partner needs more care than the other. Each resident has their own nursing assessment and an individualized care plan, so each person’s support is based on their own needs. If anyone’s needs change, we’ll talk it through openly with you and your family.
Care and health
Who is a good fit?
Grace-Lift welcomes adults 60 and older who need help with daily living. Our home isn’t the right fit for residents who need a mechanical (Hoyer) lift, ventilator care, treatment for advanced (stage 3–4) pressure wounds, or a secure setting because of behaviors that put themselves or others at risk. We’re happy to talk through your situation.
What does “DNP-led” mean?
DNP stands for Doctor of Nursing Practice. Grace-Lift was founded, and is clinically led, by Dr. Jennifer Asante, a DNP-prepared nurse practitioner. That means a nursing perspective shapes everyday care, from the first assessment and care plan to medication oversight.
What services do you offer?
Our assisted living services include help with bathing, dressing and grooming, medication management, meals and nutrition, housekeeping and laundry, transportation, companionship, wellness programs, and activities and social events. We also offer respite and short-term stays.
Is staff available around the clock?
Yes. We offer 24-hour staff availability, with support provided based on each resident’s needs.
How are medications handled?
We provide medication management, with nursing oversight as part of our DNP-led approach. If you have questions about a loved one’s medications, we’ll go over them with you privately.
Do you work with residents’ doctors and other providers?
Yes. We keep in touch with residents’ physicians, and we coordinate with home health, hospice and therapy providers when they’re part of a resident’s care.
Daily life and family
What is daily life like?

You’re part of the team. As long as the right permissions are in place, we’ll share updates with you and welcome you to stay closely involved.
Can residents bring a pet?
We don’t accept pets.
What language is care provided in?
Care is provided in English.
When can we visit?
Family is welcome daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evenings and weekends by arrangement.
Cost, tours and details
How is pricing determined?
Pricing reflects each resident’s individually assessed care needs, so we don’t publish a single rate. The best way to get a clear picture is a conversation: we’ll talk through your loved one’s needs and answer your questions.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept private pay. Ask us about long-term care insurance.
How do I schedule a tour, and what happens next?
Call us or fill out the tour request form. We’ll get back to you within one business day. We give tours Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on weekends by appointment.
Where are you located?
Our home is in Glen Burnie, Maryland. We’ll give you the street address once your tour is booked.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Grace-Lift Care Haven holds an Assisted Living Program license from the Maryland Department of Health, Office of Health Care Quality. Our license number is AL-01428, and our licensed level of care is Level 3.
